IG lauds Obiano for offering good governance to Anambra people
The Inspector General Of Police (IG), Ibrahim Idris, has lauded Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for offering good governance, describing him as the most security conscious governor in Nigeria.
Idris stated this at Aguleri Anambra East Local Government Area of the State during the foundation laying ceremony for No. 54 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Onitsha Aguleri Barracks Anambra state.
He said Obiano administration has so far demonstrated readiness to tackling insecurity challenges in the State. According to him it resulted to the recent declaration of Anambra State as the safest state in Nigeria, while charging the police and other security agencies to continue to discharge their duties with fear of God.
Governor Obiano in his address commended IGP and other CPS from neighbouring States for finding time to grace the occasion pledging his continuous support and collaboration with every security agency in Anambra State to ensure adequate security of life and property which he said was the fulcrum of his government.
He however, pledged to complete the project during his second tenure.
Consequently, the Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula in his welcome address noted that Governor Obiano’s administration has been partnering with the security agencies in the state, stressing that criminals in Anambra State have all relocated to some other states.
Okaula warned the criminals to remain relocated , reassuring that the state will continue to maintain zero tolerance to criminal activities.
Okaula also thanked the Government of Anambra State for recent donation of motorcycles and some vehicles all in a bid to combat crimes in the State, saying that the police was ready to continue to synergies with other security agencies in the state to maintain the security pace already set.
The CP while enumerating the challenges facing the police called the state government to come to their aid as it concerns accommodation, pointing out that many police officers do not have places to lay their head.
The occasion had in attendance all the His Royal Highnesses in Anambra East and West, the CPs of neighbouring States, Captains of industries among others.
