Ife crisis: Omisore sues for peaceful coexistence in Ife kingdom

Senator Iyiola Omisore representing Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District who doubles as Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, has sued for peaceful coexistence in Ile-Ife kingdom.
Omisore stated this during his visit to commiserate with the victims of Sabo/Ife crisis on Wednesday, in Ile-Ife.
He testified that Hausa has been living peacefully with Ife indigenes for about 200 years without a report of any violence between them.
The senator condemned the crisis, saying “it is very unfortunate for misunderstanding between two people to be hijacked by hoodlums and led to destruction of lives and properties worth millions of naira”.
He called on all and sundry to exercise patience, tolerance and give peace a chance to live, adding that “there is no gain in war, but peace promotes development.”
Omisore asked them to estimate the properties damaged and send the list to him for renumeration.
In his response, Alhaji Mohammed Mandagali, the Sheriki of Hausawa, who was represented by Alhaji Nasidi Malami, regretted the incident.
Mandagali said that Ife indigenes were peace maker, accommodating, friendly and loving, attributed the mayhem to the deceit of the devil.
He appealed to both sides to forget the past, turn a new leaf by giving peace a chance.
Oba Idowu Adediwura, the Obalufe of Ife Kingdom and Second-in-command to Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, lauded Omisore for his kindness and good gesture to his people.
Adediwura said that Omisore is a man of peace, who always promote peaceful coexistence where ever he find himself.
Also, the Jaran of Ife, High Chief Adekola Adeyeye, thank God for peace has started reigning in Ife, asked for continuity of peace and harmony on the land.
