ICYMI: Davido, Chioma hold lavish ‘$3.7m white wedding’ in Miami

David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has celebrated his union with Chioma Rowland in an elaborate white wedding at the Mana Wynwood Convention Centre in Miami, USA.
The ceremony, which took place on Saturday, attracted dignitaries from across business, politics and entertainment, reflecting Davido’s standing as one of Nigeria’s biggest music stars and the son of billionaire Adedeji Adeleke.
Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but the relationship faced public challenges in 2021 amid allegations of infidelity.
The couple lost their son, Ifeanyi, on October 30, 2022, and officially tied the knot in June 2024 after welcoming twins in the US in October 2023.
The Miami wedding, reportedly costing an estimated $3.7 million, had in attendance Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun state, and several prominent figures.
Davido’s groomsmen included UFC champion Kamaru Usman, Asa Asika, his cousin B-Red, and talent manager Ubi Franklin.
Notably absent was his close friend, Cubana Chief Priest, who said he was denied a US visa despite making a public appeal to the US embassy in Nigeria.
“Do it for me this time, you can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is, to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding,” he wrote on Instagram. “You need to give me access to get myself into America. Well, delay is never denial.”
His absence has sparked speculation among Nigerians, with some questioning whether the visa denial was genuine or linked to other controversies.
Earlier this year, during an online spat with Burna Boy, the Grammy winner had taunted the socialite, questioning his wealth and daring him to travel to the US.
Despite the absence, the wedding was attended by prominent entertainers such as Obi Cubana, Teni, Stonebwoy, Zlatan Ibile, and US actor Djimon Hounsou.
Davido’s father also led a large delegation of high-profile guests to the event.
