IBC DG, Egbunna, dies
The Director-General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) Owerri, Mrs Esther Obong-Egbunna, is dead. Mrs Egbunna, an ace broadcaster, died on Friday in her Owerri residence.
Mrs. Egbunna, popularly called ‘Sister E” by her admirers, joined then Imo Broadcasting Service (IBS ) in 1990 during her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), where she excelled. There she married to the then Director-General of the Radio House, Mr. Chike Egbunna.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State described her death as shocking. Okorocha said that the late Egbuna had proved to be a highly talented broadcaster and a big asset to the state in the broadcast industry and that had informed her appointment by the government as the substantive Director-General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation.
