I didn’t abscond with the mace — Bayelsa Assembly speaker

The Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mr. Abraham Ingobere, has denied the allegations that he escaped with the mace to thwart plans by Governor Douye Diri to have him impeached, DAILY TIMES gathered.
Ingobere said in a statement that the rumour circulating on social media platforms that he escaped with the mace during plenary was uncalled for.

He said the rumors were made up “by jobless politicians whose stock in trade is to cause disaffection where there is cordiality.”
The Bayelsa speaker said the legislature under his leadership has a flourishing relationship with the executive arm of government.
