Housewife caught for shoplifting in Delta supermarket

A housewife, Roselle Mutie was in the early hours of Friday in Asaba, Delta state beaten severely after been caught for allegedly stealing at a supermarket.
An eyewitness, Andrew Akanu said the suspect was caught with sanitary pads, biscuits and drinks at a popular supermarket around Old Awai Road in Asaba.
It was gathered that the suspect in disguised as regular customer in the early hours of Friday, strolled into the supermarket and pilfered the items unknowing that the close circuit television cameras caught her in the act.
She was alleged to have picked up the items in the supermarket and was stepping out when one of the sales girl monitoring the camera on the screen called her back.
Questioned if she had paid for the items she took from the shelves, the suspect replied in the negative, insisting that she bought nothing and that she took nothing from the supermarket.
Sources said the owner of the supermarket ordered a search on her bag and behold the stolen items were found, resulting in one of sales boy giving her the beating of her life.
Thereafter, the suspect was said to have owned up to stealing the items, saying she stole the items because she and her husband are unemployed. According to her, she graduated from the university many years back with no job.
“The CCTV camera caught the woman with the items; sanitary pads, biscuits and drinks in my supermarket and my boys gave her a severe beaten before she opened up that she actually stole the items.
“I let her walk away after she pleaded with me that her husband and herself have no job to feed and I advised her to embrace God for her sins to be forgiven before I gave her back the items she stole to go with,” the supermarket owner, Mallam Suleman confirmed to journalists.
