House of Reps insist on state of emergency in southern Kaduna.

The House of Aminu-Waziri-Tambuwal-3-660x330 initiated declaring a state of emergency in southern Kaduna – The members explained the move by state on insecurity and presence of terrorists in the area The House of Representatives has urged the federal government and the Kaduna state government to declare a state of emergency in southern Kaduna on Wednesday, October 19. The move was reportedly provoked by the killings commited by “terrorists” in the area, particularly, the latest killing of 44 people in Godogodo by suspected herdsmen.

Tension: Nigerians at war as Minister Amaechi is fingered in scandal They also insisted on setting up military strike force to provide security in southern Kaduna senatorial district. Besides, they demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of the attacks. The resolution was passed after it was moved by six lawmakers: Shehu Garba, Simon Arabo, Gideon Gwami, Sunday Katung, Jagaba Adams-Jagaba and Yakubu Barde. Mr Arabo, who led the debate, also recalled  that since 2011, various communities in Ssuthern Kaduna had been attacked by terrorists, “resulting in deaths, injuries, loss of properties and displacement of communities.”

Why should some people continue to slaughter others for some reasons as if their lives don’t matter? We are all Nigerians; some people should not see their lives as superior or having more value than others.” Arabo urged the government to take the same urgent measures it took in Zamfara state, to restore peace in southern Kaduna.
