Homosexuality: Man declared wanted as mob lynches brother, gay partner

Two middle aged men, identified as Prince Ebere Nwajoku and Fred Chuks have been beaten to death by a mob at Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Mr Fred Chuks was clubbed to death after he was caught red-handed indulging in homosexuality, with one Felix Ibezim Nwajoku, who escaped mob action.
But in his own case, Prince Ebere Nwajoku, who is Felix’s immediate elder brother, was a victim of circumstance.
It was gathered that trouble started when Felix, an indigene of Imo State, but resident in Awgu invited his gay partner to his family house.
While they were engaging in the unlawful act, a neighbour, who was attracted to their moaning, was said to have recorded the sexual escape and handed the video over to the community’s vigilante group.
Eyewitness said that vigilante group, accompanied by a mob arrived at the scene within minutes, but Felix had escaped before their arrival, leaving only his gay girl boyfriend behind.
“The mob descended on the young man without hesitation and beat him black and blue.
“They beat him until he was no longer breathing.
“In fact, Felix’s sister, who was within the compound and tried to stop them from beating his brother, also received the beating of her life.
“As the beating was going on, one of Felix’s brothers returned, oblivious of what was going on. The mob also descended on him and by the time the police came and took him and the first victim to hospital, they had both died from excessive bleeding,” a community source told our correspondent.
Meanwhile, a document obtained by our correspondent reveals that this incident occurred in 2011, and to this day, security agents have persistently threatened his sister, Blessing Nkiru Nwajoku.
The affidavit deposed by his sister, Blessing Nkiru Nwajoku, corroborates that her brother has been involved in a reprehensible lifestyle and provides a detailed account of Felix’s engagement in homosexual activities.
She said in the court affidavit: “That I know as a fact that the said FELIX IBEZIM NWAJOKU is a homosexual/gay and is only attracted to male genders.

“That his sexual orientation started in his teenage years while he was in secondary education, and he used to influence his male school mates to engage in homosexuality with and they did report him to school authority, then. And the School teacher will beat and flog him mercilessly.
“That our parents upon noticing his ‘odd’ sexuality took him to several prayer houses and voodoo spiritual houses for spiritual healing, but to no avail.
“That FELIX IBEZIM NWAJOKU continued engaging in homosexuality after his secondary school days till date.
“That in the course of having sexual affair with his gay girl boyfriend his moaning attracted the attention of our neighbors who have been suspecting my junior brother (Felix Ibezim Nwajoku) out of evidence, one of them quickly took photographs of them and video coverage of the acts and went out to report to Neighborhood security and youth in the neighborhood.
“That fortunately for FELIX IBEZIM NWAJOKU, before they could mobilize to our family house at Ituku in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu, Enugu state, he had left the compound leaving his gay girl boyfriend in the house.
“That the Mob/Attackers beat and naked me and his gay girl boyfriend, Mr. Fred Chuks Okeke and burnt him to death and my senior brother came to rescue me but they mistake him to be FELIX IBEZIM NWAJOKU, they rushed my senior brother PRINCE EBERE NWAJOKU and started beating him with iron and sticks till he died and I was shouting “it is not FELIX IBEZIM NWAJOKU!
“By then he gave up his ghost, and someone in our compound secretly called an aid organization and when they came to the scene, they called the Nigeria Police and the mob attackers fled as they saw the police coming.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Town Union, Chief Chris Chukwu confirmed that Felix had been banished from the community.
He said the homosexual action was a desecration of the community and would not be taken lightly.
“They violated the sanctity of our land and will pay dearly for it. Felix is on the run but no matter how he runs, we will get him,” Chukwu said.
