Hoffenheim in hot chase for Iheanacho
Man City’s and Africa’s most promising youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has emerged as a summer transfer target for German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim.
According to reports, Manchester City are thinking of selling their Nigerian striker to a foreign club in the summer, with a buy-back clause inserted into any deal.
In the event that they qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, Iheanacho is one of the three strikers on Hoffenheim’s shopping list.
A Hoffenheim insider revealed thus : ”It is true Hoffenheim are interested in Kelechi Iheanacho. He is one of the three strikers on their list but they have not started negotiating with him yet. “
Iheanacho, 20, has been a member of Manchester City’s first-team squad for the past two seasons but has found playing opportunities limited in the second half of this campaign after the Etihad outfit signed Brazil superkid Gabriel Jesus.
