Two occupants in a Toyota Camry with government plate number: Delta 01A – 75 DT were shot fatally as they were wounded in the early hours of Tuesday along old Anwai road, about three hundred metres away to Government House, Asaba, Delta State.
According to a video which has gone viral, the vehicle was headed towards Government House main gate when they came under attack by Bridge Radio Station.
The motive of the attack, whether it was a robbery incident or a kidnap attempt, was still sketchy at the time of filing this report, while their identities were also not ascertained. Sympathisers were however seen attempting to rush them to a nearby hospital.
“They were badly wounded and were writhing in pains in the pool of their blood, gasping for breath while the said vehicle was lying there facing the way to Government House”, an eyewitness told our correspondent.

It will be recalled that the Delta State Police Commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwobda while briefing the press recently assured residents of increased and aggressive policing during the ’ember’ months.
Said he, “I welcome you once again to this press briefing, where I will be briefing you on more achievements recorded by the command within the period under review. You will recall that during my last briefing, I intimated the public on deployment made in the metropolis to checkmate the activities of kidnappers and you will observe that the activities of kidnappers and armed robbers have dropped astronomically.
“As you are aware, we are now in the ember months and the command is aware of the likely upsurge in crime within these periods, hence an Operations order has been issued to all Area commanders, DPOS and Tactical commanders. There will be increased visibility policing, raiding of black spots and criminal hideout across the twenty-five local government areas in the state.
“I also wish to encourage members of the public to trust and always report incidences to the Police as this goes a long way in fighting and checkmating the activities of criminals”, he stated.
Meanwhile, the gunmen were reported to have made away with an undisclosed huge sum of money from their victims. But SP Bright Edafe , Police spokesman at the Delta State Police Command, confirmed the incident disclosing that investigation was ongoing into the incident.
