Gunmen abduct Labour Party national chairman’s mother

Unknown gunmen, Sunday’s night in Ilorin, Kwara state, abducted a 71-year old woman, Mrs. Elizabeth Omotosho.

Mrs. Omitosho is the mother of the national chairman of Labour Party (LP), Dr. Mike Omotisho.

The septuagenarian was allegedly kidnapped by four people at her Tanke, Ilorin, residence, between 7 and 8.00 pm on Sunday night.

According to the gateman, four men armed with dangerous weapons stormed the family house at Tanke and abducted Mrs. Omotosho to an unknown destination.

Dr Mike Omotosho confirmed the abduction of his mother by the gunmen.

He said the Police headquarters in Abuja and in Kwara state had been contacted on the incident and appealed to members of the public with useful information about the kidnappers to contact the law enforcement agencies.

The spokesman of the Kwara state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the development said the State Police command had started the process of freeing the septuagenarian from her abductors.

He added that the Police had swung into action, stating that investigation had commenced and advised people of the state not to panic as there is no cause for apprehension.
