Group hails Uba’s offer to stabilise Naira
A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Centre for Reform Education Initiative (CREI) has hailed Chief Ifeanyi Ubah’s recent unconditional offer to assist the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to stabilise the naira against the dollar and other international currencies in the forex market.
The organisation described the oil mogul and chief executive of Capital Oil and Gas, as a patriotic Nigerian, whose craving for service to the nation is beyond clannish, ethnic or religious inclinations.
Executive Director of CREI, Hon. Chinwe Ugwu, in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday called on other Nigerian elites and wealthy individuals to emulate Ubah’s act of patriotism and love for father land.
Ugwu said: “if only 30 percent of the Nigerian elites were like Ubah, the country would not have found itself in the present economic quagmire and unfortunate divisive political and ethnic loyalties threatening to tear the nation apart.”
According to the Executive Director, Ubah’s resolve to help the present government is an audacious move only patriots and men of extreme goodwill, strong character and genuine love for humankind could undertake.
“We at CREI are enthralled by the patriotism and love for country exhibited by Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah’s coming up and volunteering to help the government of President Muhammadu Buhari address the seemingly intractable problem in the forex market” the statement added.
