Gov’ship/Assembly elections: FRSC deploys over 70 officers, 3 patrol vehicles in Ore

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will deploy 70 officers, three patrol vehicles, and one ambulance in Ore on election day to ensure total compliance with the restriction of movement.

The Ore Unit Commander of the corps in Ondo state, Mr Philip Ozonnandi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ore that restriction of movement of vehicles would last from 6 a.m to 6 p.m on Saturday.

Ozonnandi said that vehicular movement on Shagamu-Ore-Benin expressway and other roads in parts of Ore would be restricted.

He added that only vehicles belonging to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the media, the Police and other INEC-accredited means of transportation would be allowed to ply the roads within the aforementioned time.

“Although Ondo is only going to witness the State House of Assembly election, we are fully set and will deploy more than 70 personnel, three patrol vehicles, and one ambulance.

“We will ensure total compliance with no movement of vehicles from 6 a.m to 6 p.m except for the police, press, INEC-accredited vehicles and other security vehicles,” he said.

The FRSC boss, however, urged motorists to comply with the restriction of movement order so as not to run foul of the law. (NAN)
