Government appointees seek alternative means to make ends meet

Most elected officials in the Executive Committee of the Plateau State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), have started looking for alternative sources of livelihood, as the party has no provision for them in its pay role.

Our Correspondent reports that most of the members of the APC EXCO in the State have no offices to operate from at the state secretariat of the party.

Our sources in the party had told our correspondent that, “the Public Relation Officer (PRO), the State Publicity Secretary and the State Legal Adviser of the state chapter are hardly in office because they have engaged themselves in other activities that would better their lives.

“Some have gone back to their farms and others gone back to Lagos to fend for themselves, as the party has no provision for salaries.

“If you go round the state secretariat, you would notice a huge lack of care; the fence of the secretariat has fallen in the past two months and nothing has been done about it thereby, exposing members and EXCO members to risk”

Our correspondent also discovered that the party’s office in the state is mostly under lock and key.
