Gov Obiano conferred Dike Ora

Fifteen Communities in the Federation of Old Nnewi Division (FOND), have conferred on the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano the chieftaincy title of ” Dike Ora”., at Nnewi high School, in Nnewi North Local government Area of Anambra state.

The FOND made up of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo local government Areas,  comprising 42 electoral wards.

Receiving the title, Governor Obiano dedicated the title to the people of Anambra State, saying he would not relent in providing them with dividend of democracy.

The Governor noted that his administrative priority was to give the people of the state, hope of livelihood, and provide them with adequate social amenities .

He promised workers in the state that they would receive their allowances and other benefits before Christmas.

The Commissioner for Lands Chief Lawrence Chinwuba said the Governor had embarked on construction of 15  roads in Nnewi, especially Ezira – Umuomaku – Achina road, and Ezinifite – Orumba road.

Others are Oye Uto road, Timber road ,Cosharis and Chisco road which had been ravaged by erosion, as well as Ufuma – Awa axis.

He noted that Governor Obiano had mobilized the contractors handling those roads and directed them to commence construction immediately.

The Chairman FOND, Dr Jap Okolo disclosed That they are overwhelmed by the present achievements of Governor Obiano led administration which includes provision of adequate security of lives and property, prompt payment of workers salary despite the present economic crunch, transformation of Awka and building of flyovers primarily to decongest the traffic congestion at Aroma, Kwata junction and Amawbia, enhancement of education sector, rehabilitation of various roads as well as youth empowerment schemes in the state.

That the decision was formed by his achievements in the past two years.

The Chairman Requested for rehabilitation of all the roads joining various towns in the division and create more roads networks especially during this dry season, appointment of more sons and daughters in public offices, and to give more attention to the active erosion sites in the area.

The former Commissioner for Information and the Chairman APGA Reconciliation Committee, Chief Majah Umeh disclosed that Governor Obiano had created a new agro based economy that had projected the state to agricultural map of the world.

Chief Umeh said the present administration had recorded stupendously in all sectors of development  and had written her name on gold in service delivery.

He assured the governor that Nnewi community would always support his political ambition to achieve his second term bid.

The Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, said Nnewi community had been neglected in the past, saying the present administration of Governor Obiano had attracted government attention in the community.

He however noted that Nnewi community had unanimously endorsed the governor for second tenure.

The highlights of the event was the conferment of chieftaincy title on the Governor as Dike Ora by 15 traditional rulers
