Gov Ganduje’s wife preaches hygiene, empowers 500 women

Wife of the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Hafsat Ganduje has tasked pregnant women and youths in the state on personal and environmental hygiene which she said has special recognition in Islam as one of the surest way to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

She made the call at Kwankwaso and Gwarzo Local Government Areas of the State while distributing free delivery kits and Rice to about 2000 pregnant women as well as the launching of empowerment commodities to 500 women and donation of N5000 to 500 youths as part of efforts to make them self reliant and encourage the pregnant women to attend antenatal and deliver in the hospitals.

According to Hafsat, the present administration has placed high premium on health sector like any other sector in the state, in order to make life worth living, and charged them to take the advantage of the Ganduje’s free health care services especially for pregnant women and children under 5 which offered free right from pregnancy up to the time of delivery in all government facilities.

Furthermore, free delivery kits and mosquitoes nets were also distributed to the women.

The state commissioner for health, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, enumerated some of the achievements recorded so far in the last three and half years in the health sector which includes, the renovation of 300 secondary and  primary facilities, Drugs supply, upgrade, recruitment of skilled manpower and purchase of sophisticated equipments among others for the well being of the teeming populace.
