‘Gov Emmanuel’s 2019 Budget will alleviate poverty, diversify economy’

The Akwa Ibom state commissioner for Economic Development, Labour and Manpower Planning Barrister Ekong Sampson has applauded Governor Emmanuel for timely presentation of next year appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly for consideration.
Addressing correspondents in Uyo yesterday, Ekong Sampson described the budget as being capable of alleviating poverty and enhance industrialisation drive in the state.
He observed that the appropriation bill presented to the Assembly will strengthen political strategy and provide the basis for growth as well as innovation in the state.
“The state is moving from a civil service status to industrialised setting”
“Principally, it is one budget that accommodates the concern for diversification and security as it addresses major concerns and the future of Akwa Ibom people.”
The commissioner further described the 2019 appropriation bill as a ‘budget of realism’ with the capacity to create opportunities for the citizens in employment, commerce and investment.
Barrister Sampson noted that the timely presentation of the budget was an indication that government was planning ahead of time for benefit of the people.
