Glo’s Professor Johnbull flays poor treatment of servants

Professor Johnbull, the prime time television drama series, sponsored by Globacom, will in this week’s episode turn attention to the poor treatment of domestic and other staff by employers.

Viewers of this episode will also enjoy the performance of the legend, Chief Chika Okpala, aka Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo, alias 430, who makes a star appearance.

The episode opens with the erudite Professor Johnbull, Kanayo Kanayo, obliging his servants with breakfast. But the scene quickly switches to show Chief Zebrudaya’s wife dishing out dozens of instructions to her domestic aid with machine-gun alacrity to Zebrudaya’s consternation. Matters quickly degenerated to abuse. The maid was subjected to physical and oral abuse by her ‘madam’.

And the plot unfolded further into more and more encounters with different masters and different servants in different kinds of relationships.

Viewers will discover how Ime Bishop ( Etuk) treats the staff of his hotel , how Mai Doya ( Funky Malam ) treats his yam seller and how Olaniyi ( Yomi Flash Lanzo) treats his restaurant hands.

The new episode titled Life Jacket, according to Globacom will draw the emotions of viewers as they behold the good and the bad treatment to which domestic and workshop servants are subjected.

According to Globacom, the episode will address whether some of the wicked acts of domestic servants may not be attributable to the wickedness of their masters. It will also draw attention to how an over-worked and maltreated domestic servant react to different situation?

According to Globacom, this is a serious matter “….domestic hands have been turned to the life jackets of the various places where they work…” saying that the servants oftentimes become wicked because of the bad treatments they also receive from their masters. “ Life Jacket therefore, is a way of drawing attention to the plight of these endangered members of the community,” Globacom stated.

Life Jacket will first be broadcast on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m., with a repeat broadcast on Friday at the same time on the aforementioned channels.
