Gift Williams: I want to play for Manchester United
The 13-year-old who has revealed his love for the Old Trafford giants and hopes he’d be open to a transfer one day
New Layout Secondary School, Enugu striker, Gift Williams has expressed his love for Athletico Madrid of Spain’s hitman, Antoine Griezmann and English Premier League outfit, Manchester United.
Williams scored five goals in a game at the Etisalat U15 School Cup says he hopes to take a step beyond Nigeria, with Manchester United his main destination.
Williams told Goal: “It is a true come true to be picked as the Man of the Match. I was not happy with myself because of the scoring chances I missed on Tuesday during our game with Imo and I made a promise to my coach that I would make amends against Anambra.
“I am happy that God has decided to reward my hard work. I won’t rest until we win the national playoffs in Lagos.
“I will keep on working harder to ensure that I follow the footpath of my mentor, (Antoine) Griezmann. I love the way he plays and the way he scores his goals too are very exceptional. I will like to play like him. I am a fan of Manchester United and will offer to play for free to join them. They are a club after my heart.”
