GAC Motor leverages Lagos to boost Nigeria’s sports development
GAC Motor Nigeria has sustained sports engineering and development in the country with first class funding, progressive initiatives with greater emphasis in Lagos State, the center stage of the nation’s sport’s growth.
Demonstration of this feat, is woven around GAC Motor ongoing partnership with the Access Bank, Lagos State City Marathon, scheduled for 10th February 2018, as this reechoes to the global community that, Lagos State is rightly positioned to host the world in world class events.

With the partnership, the stage has indeed been set for yet, another interesting competition with the GAC sponsorship powering the recently IAAF bronze labeled marathon with the GA3S vehicles and other operational vehicles worth over N100m.
Meanwhile, with over 100,000 participants expected to take part in the February 10, 2018, Access Bank, Lagos City Marathon, the preparation has indeed begun for the battle on who emerges winners for 2 units GA3S GAC Motor up for grabs in the newly introduced 10km Family race, which opens to Nigerian nationals only.
The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon partnership, raises the bar for intending sponsors as it adds to GAC Motors list of other supports in the sports and creative industries in Nigeria by the Chairman, CIG Motors, Chief Diana Chen, the Sole representative of GAC Motor in Nigeria.
The forth coming sports event was unveiled at a press briefing which held in Lagos on Tuesday where top officials of GAC Motor, Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode, and Access Bank Nigeria Plc GMD/CEO, Hubert Wigwe, gave the assurances that preparations are on top gear to make the event memorable, world class with greater rewards to winners and participants.
Chairman, CIG Motors, Chief Diana Chen, Sole representative of GAC Motor in Nigeria in his address, expressed the commitment of the Nigeria’s highly auto priced company towards the forth coming event and sports development in general.
He said: “GAC Motor is very happy and proud to be a part of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon because it represents endurance, strength and tenacity, qualities that GAC Motor vehicles possess. Through this sort of programme ‘we want other investors to know that Lagos is safe to do business and they can trust Lagos State she concluded’.
Chief Diana Chen reiterated that Access Bank Lagos city Marathon helps to deliver the right and unadulterated message to the global community that Lagos state and indeed Nigeria is safe and friendly, and continental and effortlessly host global sports fiesta without reduction in standard.
Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by the Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Deji Tinubu, gave assurance on the state’s commitment to ensure that logistics, conducive as well as secured environment which has been the hall mark of the state is enjoyed throughout the event and beyond.
The governor said “Lagos is using sport as a vehicle to help develop our youths. We are building a culture of tourism and telling the world that the environment in Lagos is conducive, safe and secure”
