Foundation offers free medical treatment to 2, 000 patients in Bauchi

A Bauchi based non-governmental organization, Almuhibbah Foundation, says it has offered free medical treatment to 2, 000 patients suffering from various ailments in Bauchi state.
Founder of the organisation, Dr. Aisha Mohammed, made the disclosure in an interview in Bauchi.

Mohammed disclosed that the foundation has initiated medical outreaches to treat persons with hepatitis, HIV/AIDs, high blood pressure and diabetes as well as eye diseases.
She said that medical screening, tests, consultations, diagnosis and drugs would be provided to the beneficiaries, adding that the exercise was organised in collaboration with another organization, Hepatitis Zero Commission.
Mohammed said that the exercise is part of efforts to contribute toward enhancing access to quality healthcare services in the state.
“During the exercise, test will be conducted and our expert will counsel and give out drugs to those diagnosed with any form of ailment listed during the exercise.
“Whoever is diagnosed with an ailment should not give up but rather seek medical advice and commence treatment,’’ she said.

Also speaking, National President, Hepatitis Zero Commission, Dr. Mike Omotosho, said that more cases of hepatitis were being recorded in the country.
Omotosho noted that hepatitis has become a public health issue, hence the need for collective engagement to prevent the spread of the disease.
Some beneficiaries, Mrs. Zainab Ibrahim and Maryam Musa lauded the gesture of the non-governmental organizations, adding that it would go a long way to improve their health status.
