FirstBank enhances sustainability with #GivingTuesday

First Bank of Nigeria Limited employees have volunteered to provide relief materials and donations as part of its Employee Giving and Volunteering Scheme to boost the living standard of cross section of  persons in need.

The donation by the bank workers, was coming as companies across the globe are involved with #Givingtuesday, a global movement which connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world to celebrate and encourage giving.

Staff members of FirstBank of Nigeria, adjudged to be the country’s most valuable bank brand, will on Tuesday, 29th November, 2016 and for the rest of this festive season that symbolises ‘giving and sharing, mobilise gifts and donations in collaboration with NGOs to support and care to humanity at orphanages and internally Displace Persons (IDPs) across Nigeria.

Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications for FirstBank, Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney, stated that “As a Nation builder and responsible corporate citizen, we are aware of our responsibilities towards enhancing the quality of life of the people in our community, protecting our environment and ensuring the growth of our business.  We are determined to achieve this through sustainable business practices, while expanding the world of possibilities for all our stakeholders and host communities, by contributing positively to their lives on a daily basis.

The Employee Giving and Volunteering Scheme is a platform through which FirstBank is currently harnessing its Employee Volunteerism engagement strategy, enabling the Bank to effectively translate to employees and stakeholders that “giving back”, through varied corporate responsibility initiatives, is an integral element of the FirstBank corporate culture.
