First WiFi, now this! Guardiola cracks down on colourful boots at Man City

The Premier League table-toppers have reportedly ordered their youth players to wear only plain, black boots to foster a better team spirit

 Pep Guardiola is continuing his crackdown on distractions and unnecessary exuberance at Manchester City, after it was reported players rising through the club’s academy have been banned from wearing coloured boots.

The Catalan is apparently keen to ensure everyone from the first team down to the most promising academy starlets remains grounded, according to the Daily Mail, with the latter now only allowed to wear blacked-out boots.

It is an unprecedented move following Guardiola’s removal of WiFi and mobile data around City’s training ground as he aims to foster squad harmony.

The latest step to clamp down on individual flamboyance does not appear in line with Guardiola’s personal standards, however, after he was recently photographed driving a £200,000 Bentley into the club’s grounds…
