FG denies owing retirees N850,000 benefits

Federal Government has denied owing retirees the sum of N850.000.00, as being speculated in some section of the media. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige in a press statement Monday however, described the action as malicious. Senator Ngige said his attention was drawn to trending online post that “retirees between 1990 to 2018 are to receive benefits of N850,000.00 (Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) by Department of Labour of Nigeria”. The Minister stated that this claim is false and an attempt at defrauding innocent retirees that have served the nation meritoriously. The Minister warned the general public to disregard this trending online post as anyone who transacts any business with these fraudulent individuals does so at his or her own risk. Idu Jude, Abuja
