FG APPROVES PURCHASE OF SIXTY-SEVEN VEHICLES FOR FRSC

The Federal Government has approved the purchase of sixty-seven operational vehicles for the Federal Road Safety Corps at the cost of four hundred and sixty-four million naira.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige revealed this at the close of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Emerging from the three hours deliberations, Minister of Labour and Employment says the operational vehicles are aimed at improving the capacity of the FRSC to respond in times of emergency as well as gaining access to accident scenes.

The Council also responded to the National Bureau of Statistics reports that the economy is still in recession in the third quarter of year.

According to the Minister of Budget and National Planning the progress recorded in the non oil sector is capable of reflating the ailing economy.

He says the third quarter recession is predicated on the poor performance of the oil sector, but expresses optimism of a better performance in the fourth quarter.

Council also l approved the domestication of African growth and opportunity act with the intention of attracting more foreign firms to the country.
