FG appoints MD, National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Abakaliki

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Johnson Akuma Obuna, as the substantive medical director of the National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, for an initial term of four years, with effect from August 5.

This was contained in a statement signed by Director Media and Public Relations, Ogundoro Modupe and made available to the journalists on Monday in Abuja.

Congratulating the new medical director in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Abdulaziz Abdullahi, reminded him of the huge responsibility of his office.

The permanent secretary charged Dr. Obuna, who is also an associate Professor in obstetrics and gynaecology to bring his wealth of experience to bear in addressing the yearnings of Nigerians for an effective and responsive health care delivery system.

He also urged the new medical director to justify the confidence reposed in him by Mr. President, through his new appointment.
