FCT Traditional Chiefs Disown Youth Scribe
……Describe him as notorious, dubious
Says claimer not an indigene of FCT
The last have not been heard of the rumble between the traditional rulers in the Federal Capital Territory, under the aegis of FCT Council of Chiefs, and one Mr. Yunusa Yusuf Ahmedu, the deposed spokesperson of indigenous people of Abuja, the original inhabitants of the territory.
Recall that Ahmadu has, in recent times, allegedly created different media platforms to launch attacks on the FCT traditional stool describing them as sleeping dogs, an action described as “unwarranted
and vicious attacks” on the FCT administration under the guise of championing the course of Abuja natives.
Worried by this development, traditional chiefs in the nation’s capital have publicly denounced his claims as representative of Abuja original inhabitants, describing his actions as “notorious and dubious act.”
In a letter of disclaimer dated January 23, 2017, signed by the Esu of Bwari, HRH. Ibrahim Yaro, and made available to the Daily Times, further revealed that Yunusa Yusuf Ahmadu is not an indigene of Bwari nor of any of the indigenous communities in the FCT as purportedly claimed by him.
The letter reads in part: “That Yunusa Yusuf Ahmadu is not an indigene of Bwari nor of any of the indigenous communities in the FCT, but lives in Mpape as a resident. Our investigation confirms that he is an indigene of Kaduna state but claims the FCT, because he speaks Gbagyi language.
“He is not and has never been an emissary of the palace nor has he undertaken or given any assignment in the past by the palace. He therefore does not represent us in any way and we hereby disassociate
ourselves from his activities. We need to clear our names from his notorious and dubious acts.”
The Abuja Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organization also stated that the youth wing of the Abuja natives had in 2015 expelled Yunusa Ahmadu from the youth organization due to his alleged nefarious activities that are notorious and inimical to the interest of the organization.
In a letter signed by the President of Abuja Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organization, Commandant Isaac David and delivered to Daily Times revealed that Ahmadu was a member in his capacity as general secretary of the organization before his expulsion from the group.
“He has since been removed from the position and expelled from the organization since 2015 due to activities that are notorious and inimical to the interests of the organization. We disassociate
ourselves individually and as an organization from his activities as he does not respect the organization in any capacity and the indigenes of the FCT especially our traditional institutions,” the statement
red.
