Fayose Links Ekiti Kidnap Cases to Jail Break

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has condemned the persistent abduction cases in the state, saying the recent jail break in the state might be to blame, just as he promised to ensure the release of the victims soonest.

He made declaration, while addressing the staff of the Federal Teaching Hospital, at IdoEkiti, on Monday, who had demanded that one of their own, Mrs. Margret Aladeneka, who was kidnapped on May 6, be rescued.

Fayose, who assured the health workers that his government, in collaboration with the security operatives, would bring back those kidnapped, recently, to rejoin their families, however noted that: “When we had a jailbreak, they regrouped and started terrorisingour state, but we subdued and got them. We have rearrested over 199, and others have fled the state.”

The Governor assured the staff that: “Mrs. Aladeneka would soon be with us. I appreciate you for being your brother’s keeper. It could be anybody. It could be your brother. Let me tell you that I share your sorrow. This is one of the burdens I carry with you. I am sure that she will come back soon to join us.

“It is not about the All Progressives Congress (APC) or Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). Everybody must join hands with government to unravel the security issue, and bring it to an end. We are calling on all Ekiti indigenes, irrespective of their political affiliations and all security agencies to support the government to bring this untidy development to an end in a bid to get the kidnapped released and put paid to such occurrences.”
