Everton on the verge of signing Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes

Everton have been given yet another transfer boost in their quest to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes with Paris Saint-Germain looking less likely to sign him according to several reports.

French publication Le10 sport reported that Lille are looking to tie Gabriel to a new deal despite previously deciding that they would be releasing him and pursuing a new central defender.

However, a new report has claimed that PSG will will now be offering Thiago Silva a new deal as they don’t close to making a move for Gabriel and that Everton are now in the race for the Brazillian’s signature.

According to reports in March stating that  Everton were in talks with Lille with regards to a possible move for Gabriel who will likely cost £30m.

The Toffees are targeting the 22-year-old as they feel like he would be the ideal fit that they have been needing in a centre-back.

Fellow Premier League Chelsea were rumoured to be interested in him but it now looks like Everton may just win the race.
