Enugu Assembly steps down Citizens' Right Bill
Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly who resumed plenary after one month recess, on Tuesday, stepped down debate on the Bill for a law to amend the Citizen’s Rights and Mediation Centre Law, Cap.45.
Sponsor of the amendment bill, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu and Leader of the House, tabled the matter on the floor of the House.
Hon. Ezeugwu did not adduce reasons for asking for the stepping down of the Bill but said it should be stepped down for deliberation on a later date.
“I move that the bill for a law to amend the Enugu State Citizen’s Rights and Mediation Centre Law Cap. 45 Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria 2004, and to Provide for Matters Connected Therewith HB.2, 2016, standing in my name be stepped down for a later date, I so move,” Ezeugwu avers.
The suggestion pleased his colleagues and it was unanimously carried as no one raised any objections.
