Embattled Bank Staff Who Uncovered Fraudulent Malpractice Loses Niece As Threats Heighten.

An embattled staff of a popular microfinance bank(name withheld) in Ijebu-Ode has reportedly lost her niece after she was gruesomely murdered at about 3pm in their apartment at 12 Satina Street Ijebu-Ode following an attack by unknown gunmen on December 3rd 2024.

The staff of the microfinance bank (names withheld) and her immediate family were said to have come under severe threats after she made some shocking discovery that some members of staff under her watch were neck-deep in sharp financial malpractices.

It was alleged that some members of staff of the local microfinance bank were secretly laundering and collecting loans from the bank using fake names and without strict adherence to banking policy and guidelines

The financial impropiety, according to an inside source in the bank, allegedly started in December 2023 and was discovered in October 2024 by the embattled staff as this was said to have however led to the imminent sack of some of the affected members of staff.

The imminent sack was said to have greatly exposed the embattled bank staff to severe threats as she reportedly received life-threatening messages on several occasions from faceless individuals who vowed to eliminate every member of her family.

However on December 3rd 2024, some unknown gunmen struck in their apartment where they reportedly shot and murdered her niece in the presence of her maid at about 3pm at no.12 Satina Street Ijebu-Ode, it was confirmed.

The continued threats to the life of members of her immediate family which led to the gruesome murder of her niece was however reported at Igbeba Divisional police headquarters Ijebu-Ode by the embattled bank staff on the fateful day, Dec 3rd while the corpse was later deposited in the community mortuary.

Meanwhile, a statement from the police in Ijebu-Ode made available to journalists stated that it received a disturbing report from occupants of house no.12 Satina Street Ijebu-Ode where the niece of a staff of a popular microfinance bank(name withheld) was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen on December 3rd.

The statement further stated that while investigation into the case was ongoing in order to apprehend the suspected killers, the corpse of the deceased had been deposited in the local mortuary.

Meanwhile, a visit to the community revealed that the family house of the embattled bank staff had been abandoned owing to the heightened fears of possible attacks after the gruesome murder incident of December 3rd .
