Senator Ekwunife also commended RCC construction company, the project contractors, for the quality and pace of the ongoing project and urged them to continue with this pace of work in order to ensure that the project is completed before the next rainy season. Especially in light of the 2020 meteorological reports which predicts very heavy and torrential rainfall this year. She also commended the Anambra State Controller of Works for the efficiency and professionalism being exhibited in this project and thanked the good people of Anambra State for their patience and endurance during this construction.
She also urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to also prioritize the construction of the highways from Onitsha, Nkwelle, Nsugbe, Umueze Anam bridge, Oroma Etiti, Umuekwu, NZAM, Okwali and Enoma to KOGI State, as this would provide alternative commuter routes from Southeast to the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. This will reduce traffic congestion on this road and its consequential wear and tear on the road, while increasing the longevity of this road.
