Ekpolo bids farewell to Barca!

Nigerian defender Godswill Ekpolo has bid Spanish champions Barcelona an emotional farewell after he was released after 11 years at the club.
The 21-year-old Ekpolo, who recently trained with the Nigeria Olympic team in Abuja, spent 11 years at the club after joining at the age of 10.
While he was a regular for the Barcelona B team and was touted as a future regular for the first team, he however never played in a competitive fixture for The Blaugrana.
Confirming the development, Ekpolo said: “I know that I have been blessed to be part of a Club like Barca. There have been good times and bad times.
“I have cried and laughed with you. I have lost and celebrated with you. But no matter the situation, my passion has been clear – playing and winning.”
Speaking further, he said: “Obviously, I won’t be able to do that next season, but I hope that the supporters and my teammates will be able to enjoy many joyful moments.
“They deserve the best of times and it would give me so much pleasure to see Barca B back where they belong.
“For 11 years I gave my life to this team, jumping at every opportunity in hope that one day, just maybe one day, I’d get a chance at the first team.”
