EFCC arrests Jonathan’s former Principal Secretary, Hassan Tukur

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Hassan Tukur, a former Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to former President Goodluck Jonathan. Tukur was picked up by operatives of the commission on Monday evening in his Abuja residence.
He was one of the most powerful persons in the administration of the former president. It was not clear why he was arrested, but the commission has been investigating how government monies were stolen and diverted for political purposes during Jonathan’s administration.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, requested the question be sent via text message due to poor telephone signal. He did not revert after the message was sent to him. However, a competent source in the know of what transpired confirmed that Tukur was”picked last (Monday) night and is still with the EFCC”
