Ebonyi to try tax offenders

Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi, has restated the preparedness of the state government to establish a mobile court to prosecute offenders who may resist paying their taxes in the state.
He made this known while addressing the executive members of the Amalgamated Association of Marketers who paid him courtesy visit at Executive Council Chambers of the Government House.
He maintained that there was no going back on the collection of the taxes, noting that they would enable the government to boast its internally generated revenue (IGR).
Umahi lamented that there were many fake tax collectors who defrauded the state government in 2015, which according to him made the state to loss 60 percent of its annual income.
