Ebonyi stakeholders back Umahi against Udefa

Stakeholders from Onicha Local Government Area have demonstrated their support for the Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, following the resignation of the Senior Special Assistant on Internal Security, Hon. Ali Odefa.
Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Chief Donatus Njoku, who led the delegation to the Government House, promised Umahi the people’s support.
“We condemn what transpired in Enugu on Saturday in its totality because it is likened to people biting the finger that fed and is still feeding them.
He noted that the people were disassociating themselves from the act, as Odefa and his cohorts acted outside the mandate given to them by the people.
The Member representing Onicha West constituency in the State House of Assembly, Mr Valentine Okike noted that what transpired at Enugu was shameful to the state.
The Onicha LGA Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mrs Elizabeth Onwe, noted that the people had been liberated from a heavy bondage caused by the influence of the Odefa family.
Chief of Staff to the Ebonyi Government House, Dr. Offfor Okorie, who represented the governor, thanked the people for their peaceful disposition and promised to relay their messages to the governor.
