Ebonyi now investors-friendly, says Umahi

Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi, on Monday declared the commitment of his administration in diversifying the economy of the state through the promotion of the agricultural sector and harnessing of the abundant solid mineral potentials of the state.
He stated that his government had created enabling environment for investors in the state.
Umahi, made the disclosure in his address during the Ebonyi State Special Day at the ongoing 27th Enugu International Trade fair.
The governor, represented by the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Nwifuru, said that as a part of his administration’s effort in boosting the agricultural sector, a delegation from the state was sent to Thailand to study modern rice production strategies, with a view to maximising rice production in the state for both local consumption and export.
He appealed to both local and foreign investors to avail themselves the opportunity of the forthcoming Ebonyi State local trade fair, holding fromApril 16 to April 30.
Earlier in her address, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs Elizabeth Ogbaga,  stressed that the theme of the 27th Enugu International Trade fair, “Diversifying the Nation’s Economy: From Rhetorics to Co-ordinated Action”, was in tandem with the work plan of the ministry of Commerce and Industry.
