‘Don’t kill this baby’ – Dele Momodu warns Dumebi Kachikwu of ADC
Dele Momodu, former PDP chieftain, has sounded a note of warning to Dumebi Kachikwu not to kill the ADC coalition party with selfish interest.
He made the statement during a virtual interview session with Channels TV’s Morning Brief program on Friday morning.
Dele Momodu who referred to Duembi as his “younger brother” insisted that being a former presidential candidate of ADC doesn’t make him the owner of the party and as such should tread carefully.
Dumebi Kachikwu had days ago criticize the influx of politicians into the party and taking over its leadership in preparation for the 2027 election.
The former PDP chieftain cited cases of Peter Obi, former presidential candidate, who is now a “floater” in the Labour Party and himself who was also a presidential candidate in 2011.
“I was a presidential candidate in 2011 under the platform of the National Conscience Party which was cofounded by Chief Gani Fawehimi, yet the great lawyer did not own the party.
“Even as powerful and influential Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is in the North, he cannot lay claim to be the sole owner of NNPP. Not even Atiku Abubakar since his days in the SDP never claimed he owns PDP,” Dele Momodu revealed.
The former PDP chieftain, who recently joined the ADC coalition party, tagged Dumebi’s attitude about the recent coalition as a sense of entitlement having cofounded the party using PDP as an example.
“Some people founded PDP but today, they have lost control of it. In fact, Atiku Abubakar was one of those who founded the party.
“Now that ADC has become a prosperous association, don’t let anyone use you to destroy it. The ADC coalition is a new baby, don’t kill it.
“He should be happy now that some people are willing to take the party beyond where he left it,” he added.
Dele Momodu noted that Peter Obi is not in control of Labour Party despite coming third in the last election, according to INEC.
He also mentioned the recent call by other PDP chieftains for Jonathan to represent the party as an impossible mission because he believed the enemies of the party are still amongst its members.
Nevertheless, he called on politicians to focus on the coming election rather than resort to propagandas and speculation.
