Don’t give up hope on Nigeria – Cleric urges Nigerians

A cleric, Rev. Fr. Fidelis Izuakor on Sunday urged Nigerians to be firm in prayer and not give up as there is still hope for greatness in the country.
Izuakor made the call during his sermon at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Okpuno in Awka, Anambra state.
He said that the greatness of the country would manifest when Nigerians remain resolute in the love of God and the nation and work toward building it.
“I just know and believe that our country Nigeria will be great because our numerous challenges have been lessons for us to learn and improve upon.
“Just on Friday, a truck laden with diesel fell off while driving inward Berger shortly after the Otedola Bridge in Lagos, spilling its contents on the road.
“Normally, people would have gone scooping the diesel and fire service would come after the disaster has taken place, but this time, people did not go to scoop and report has it that the fire servicemen were there early enough to avert the occurrence of fire incident or deaths
“This shows that we are learning our lessons as a people and we are making efforts to improve on our mistakes.
“So, I urge us not to give up on our ourselves and our nation no matter the challenges that confront us today; there is still hope for greatness in Nigeria,” he said.
Izuakor also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the peace and progress of the country.
