Disregard quit notice- Bauchi NOA Director to Igbo

The Bauchi State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi, has warned all ethnic groups residing in the state to abstain from utterances that are capable of causing division and hatred among the people of the state, calling on Igbo living in the state to disregard the quit notice issued them by some Northern youths to vacate the north by October 1.
The director while reacting to the current widespread hate speeches spreading like wild fire across the country, stated in a press release on Wednesday in Bauchi, that the current strategies adopted by some disgruntled elements in the country oozing out hate speeches are capable of causing crises in the country.
According to the NOA boss, “If not checked, it is a ploy to gradually truncate the hard labour of our founding fathers to keep the sanctity and inviolability of our nation called Nigeria one.”
The release further stated that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable and the country will continue to live and wax stronger as an indivisible entity for the development and harnessing of its human and natural resources.
Kobi, however, called on the people of Bauchi State both indigenes and non indigenes to consider themselves as bonafide citizens and indigenes of the state, maintaining that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees the rights of every citizen to reside in any parts of the country irrespective of religious, tribes and cultural orientation.
He assured all and sundry of government’s determination and commitment to criminalize any individual or group of individuals behind such divisive and ugly speeches.
