Diaspora Foundation equips Uzuakoli Motherless Babies Home

A notable son of Isingwu in Umuahia and a nurse in Diaspora, Prince Madu Gabriel over the weekend, re-equipped the Methodist Church of Nigeria Uzuakoli Motherless babies Home.
This gesture was in collaboration with his Non-Governmental Organisation, Hopee Foundation and the First Assembly of God Church, Pennsylvania, New York, USA.
The philanthropist had renovated the entire Motherless Baby’s Home and equipping it with new beddings, brand new ultra-modern beds numbering over 50, matresses, pillow cases, bed sheets and curtain accessories, as well as food items – bags of rice.
Speaking during the occasion, the founder of Hopee Foundation, Prince Madu Gabriel said he was touched by the humility with which his late mother handled other people’s affairs, hence his choice to extend his goodwill to others especially the less-privileged.
While handing over the renovated motherless baby’s home, Prince Madu said the First Assembly of God Church, Pennsylvania, New York, USA contributed to the funding of the home, but not up to half of the total cost, stating “When I came and saw the children and compared them with my children who live in comfort outside the country, I got emotional.
“I said I will transfer that life of luxury of my children to the children at the home”, and pledged to come back to the home”.
Breaking down in tears, Prince Gabriel vouched further assurance over the children stating, “If all can put hands together, the lives of such children can be touched” and urged people not to give to be paid back, but to do it for God.
He disclosed that his foundation will also empower 100 widows this Christmas with necessary items for the season, while advising the haves not to suppress those under them but to help, especially the less-privileged, stating, “We want God to continue to bless the children and the foundation”.
He thanked his church, the First Assembly of God Church, Pennsylvania, New York, USA and a pastor of the church Pastor Danny Haas who came to represent the church.
Speaking, , Danny Haas expressed the happiness to the church in alleviating the sufferings and assisting the less-privileged in the country, stating that he , along with four others of the church came to the country, particularly the state to assist, emphasizing on the need for people to give freely in order to get the favour of God.
Pastor Danny, who later consecrated the home and the beddings, said the founder of Hopee Foundation, Prince Madu had invited them following the raising of fund by the church in the USA.
Earlier in his thanksgiving to the donors, the Project Director of Uzuakoli Leprosy Centre and Uzuakoli Motherless Baby’s Home, Rev Joshua Okpara expressed delight and that of the Bishop of Uzuakoli Methodist Church of Nigeria, Very Reverend Chiemeka in fulfilment of their prayer to God to bring a helper to the home.
“We have been praying for God to bring people to come and help. We are relieved when the home saw someone like Prince Gabriel Madu and has now seen one with sacrificial heart” and prayed God to bless him.
Speaking earlier during a courtesy call on him by the donor group, the paramount ruler of Uzuakoli, HRM Eze K O Ikonte in collaboration with other traditional rulers in Uzuakoli expressed their delight to the group, while praying for the good of the donors.
The Ozuo II of Uzuakoli used the opportunity to urge other well-meaning Abians and Nigerians at home or in Diaspora to emulate and appreciate Prince Madu and Hopee Foundation as well as First Assembly of God Church Pennsylvania York USA.
According to another traditional ruler, Eze Uchendu Okorie, the Ekwo II of Akaekwo disclosed the happiness of traditional rulers in the area, stating that the people of the area are busy praying for the donors, stating, “This type of thing is worth doing”.
The Biushop of the Uzuakoli Methodist Diocese of Uzuakoli was represented on the occasion by Very Rev O C madu, the Presbyter of Ozuitem Circuit.
