David Mark: How we intend to reposition PDP

….No more imposition in PDP – Mark

Ahead of the forthcoming Congresses and convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), former President of the Senate, David Mark has canvassed the repositioning of the party, if it must return to power in the next general election in 2019.

Mark told party faithful at a stakeholders meeting in his country home Otukpo, Benue State on Monday that PDP had electoral misfortunes in the last general elections because of imposition of candidates against the wishes of the people.

His words: “We must come to terms with reality that PDP lost the last general election because of over bearing tendencies of some leaders who imposed candidates on the people.

“It is inevitable that we must change from the old ways and allow the will of the people prevail. Unfolding events clearly showed that the PDP is the party for the people. But we must not take them for granted by forcing unpopular candidates on them.

“The coast is clear that the party has the road map for peace, unity and development of Nigeria. Nigerians now know the difference,” he stressed.

In their separate remarks, State Chairman of the party, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo; former Interior Minister, Comrade Abba Moro and elder statesman, General Geofrey Ejiga (rtd) corroborated the views of Mark to as a matter of necessity, reposition the party for good.

It will be recalled that Senator Mark, on his 68th birthday message, dedicated the remaining days of his life to the service of God and humanity.
