Dabiri-Erewa hails Anambra over Diaspora ministry

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has applauded the initiative of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for being the first state to create a full ministry of Diaspora Affairs.
She made the commendation when she paid a courtesy call on Obiano at the his in Awka at the weekend.
The presidential aide, according to a statement by his Media Assistant, Alh Abdulrahman Balogun, equally applauded the governor on his achievements that had made the people of Anambra very proud in just less than two years.
She further commended him for his interest in Diaspora matters as being the first governor to establish a diaspora commission and appoint a Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs.
The SSA said that with the population of Anambra indigenes in the Diaspora, there was a need for a partnership between her office and the state to attract investors from the Diaspora.
Dabiri-Erewa stressed a need for partnership, saying there were many interested Nigerians in the Diaspora willing to be a part of such a development.
She expressed satisfaction with the governor’s efforts in providing adequate security needed for investors in the state.
Responding, the governor listed all his efforts geared towards promotion of tourism in the state as an alternative source of generating revenue other than relying on rent and revenue from oil.
