Cristiano Ronaldo crosses the century mark for Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo hit his 100th and 101st goal for Portugal in their 2-0 defeat of Sweden in the UEFA Nations League.

The Juventus star scored a sumptuous free kick to hit his number 100, as he inches closer to breaking Ali Daie’s record.

Ronaldo added a second as he moved one step nearer to becoming the highest goal scorer in international football.

Ronaldo has achieved this immense feat in just 165 games, and has had 40 assists also in as many games.

Of his total international goals, 54 were rightfooted, 24 headers and 22 with his left foot.

Out of Ronaldo’s 100 goals, only 17 of them have come in international friendlies.

In his long career for Portugal, now spanning 16 years, he has scored seven goals vs Lithuania, six vs Sweden, five vs Andorra, Armenia, Latvia, and Luxembourg.

The 5-time World’s Best Footballer has six international hat tricks, and has scored seven goals in the FIFA World Cup stage and another nine at the UEFA Euros in his career.
