CRAAAI 2nd annual national consumers summit holds Nov.9

The Consumer Rights Awareness Advancement & Advocacy Initiative (CRAAAI) , a non-governmental, non-political consumer rights protection initiative in Nigeria has concluded plans to hold its National Consumer Summit and Awards on November 9,2017.
According to a release from CRAAAI signed by its Chairman,Mr Moses Igbrude”in furtherance of our core objectives, we would be hosting the second edition of the Annual Summit and Awards. The annual event is aimed at drawing public attention to topical issues on consumerism and rewarding / celebrating organizations that have delighted consumers via product innovation/creativity and/or excellent service delivery,”he said.
As he disclosed the theme for this year Annual Summit and Awards is:” Protecting Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverages/Brewery Industries From Counterfeiters: A Collaborative Approach.”
Going further he posited that the core focus for this year’s edition is to re-energize collaborative measures amongst key stakeholders in the fight against counterfeiters,saying that the advance in technology has made counterfeiters more sophisticated in their acts.
This situation calls for concerted effort to strengthen the working synergy of regulators, manufacturers/producers and all other stakeholders for continuous engagement on ways to curb this national malaise.
He revealed that the Director- General of Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) Dr Osita A. Aboloma would be the guest speaker at the summit,adding that discussants at the event are drawn from NAFDAC. MAN, CPC, PSN and consumer advocacy groups etc.
