Covid-19: Fani-Kayode, others kick against 5G in Nigeria

Many people have kicked against the use of 5G in Nigeria as there are reports that 5G is the cause of novel coronavirus Covid-19 that is ravaging the world.

The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing.

According to Wikipedia 5G is the fifth generation of wireless communications technologies supporting cellular data networks. Large scale adoption began in 2019 and today virtually every telecommunication service provider in the developed world is upgrading its infrastructure to offer 5G functionality.

But there are conspiracy theories on the cause of the nevel coronavirus one of which is that global elites are using 5G to spread the coronavirus pandemic

 Others is that the coronavirus was created by the Chinese government, is part of a human depopulation scheme by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, or stemmed from a tainted batch of children’s blood that the world’s celebrities drink to stay young.

In Nigeria some of those who have reacted to this conspiracy theory that 5G is the cause of Covid-19 are Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Senator Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani

Fani-Kayode in a tweet on Saturday said that the federal government should not allow 5G in Nigeria and if it has it should burn it.

He also warned that the government should not take anything from the Chinese to help prevent coronavirus.

Fani-Kayode said: ‘Do NOT allow 5G in Nigeria & if you have already done so burn it. Do NOT accept face masks & other accessories from the Chinese to help prevent coronavirus. Do NOT accept help from Chinese doctors. Do NOT accept any anti-Coronavirus vaccines from ANYONE.’

Also Senator Shehu Sani who is from Kaduna state said that #COVIDー19 is gradually being manipulated to condition our mind and psyche to abhor & despise anything from or of China;including their aid & offer to assist with medical personnel.Lets fight the virus, but not be used by others to stigmatize a friend who has never abandoned us.

Senator Dino Melaye said: Whether it is true or not that they are already laying cables of 5G in Nigeria or not. Govt must not allow it in Nigeria and should take a proactive step in that regard. 4G that is here in Nigeria sef na problem. 3G dey do everything i need i beg… We must watch out…

You do not have proof to back up your argument that the 5G story is false. But, those who came up with the claim have shown and given possible reasons why 5G is responsible.
