COVID-19 cases rise to 25 in Bauchi, six discharged

The coronavirus cases has risen to 25 in Bauchi State as the state recorded eleven new confirmed positive cases, a statement from the Governor Bala Mohammed’s Special Assistant on New media, Alhaji Lawal Muazu said on Tuesday night.

According to the statement, out of the total number, six have been discharged, leaving the state now with 19 active cases with zero death.

“With the increased number of  confirmed positive cases in the state, Bauchi State government calls on the entire citizens of the state to report any person coming to the state from any of the high risk states of Coronavirus to enable government tackle and control the spread of the disease”, the statement further read.

“Coronavirus is real. Let’s work collectively and together to defeat it, together, we make Bauchi State safe”, it added.

Governor Bala Mohammed of the state had earlier in the day signed into law an executive order to try violators of the lockdown order placed on the state by the Government to curb the spread of the virus, stipulating fines ranging from N5000 and above.
