COVID-19: 70 in Lagos as Nigeria’s total jumps to 627

Lagos state has reported seventy fresh cases of coronavirus COVID-19 according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)

NCDC said as at 11:50 pm 19th April eighty-six new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 70 in Lagos, 7 in FCT, 3 in Katsina, 3 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Jigawa, 1 in Bauchi, 1 in Born, this brings the total confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria to 627

NCDC further reported that 170 have been discharged and 21 deaths 21

The latest figure brings the total number of confirmed cases to 627..

The breakdown of cases by state is: Lagos- 376, FCT- 88, Kano- 36, Osun- 20, Oyo- 16, Edo- 15, Ogun- 12, Kwara- 9, Katsina- 12, Bauchi- seven, Kaduna- six, Akwa Ibom- nine, Delta- four, Ekiti – three, Ondo – three, Enugu, Rivers, Niger and Jigawa have two each, while Borno, Benue and Anambra have one each.

NCDC said that one case previously reported in Kano had been transferred to Jigawa State.

“Therefore, the total number of confirmed cases in Kano is 36 as at April 19,” the NCDC said.
