Court of Appeal upholds Ganduje’s election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna has ruled that Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was dult elected as governor Kano State, adding that the appeal filed by Abba Kabiru Yusuf and his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lacks merit.

The five-man panel of the court led by Justice Tijjani Abubakar therefore dismissed the appeal in its entirety and affirmed that Governor Ganduje was elected by the majority of Kano voters.

Court to rule on Faisal Maina’s bail application Nov. 29

The Kano State governorship election tribunal had earlier in October upheld the election of Governor Ganduje. The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Halima Shamaki announced the dismissal of the petition of the People Democratic Party and it’s governorship candidate.

Ganduje was announced the winner of the election following a supplementary election held in the state.
