Court jails 3 fraudsters over N12.5m fraud

Three fraudsters, Oluwalusi Kikelomo, Ezean Chukwuebukai Lawrence and Magbo Chukwujekwu Hillary were on Thursday sentenced to various terms of imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Benin City, Edo State for fraudulent activities. Justice M. G. Umar convicted Kikelomo and sentenced her to six months imprisonment following a plea bargain and her plea of guilty to a one count charge of stealing and obtaining by false pretence. All assets recovered from her as proceeds of crime are to be returned to the victim. Ezean Chukwuebukai Lawrence was sentenced to two months imprisonment for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N168,000.00 from the bank account of one Okosun Christiana. While the second accused person, Magbo Chukwujekwu Hillary is to served two months in imprison for his role in obtaining N168,000 from the bank account of one Okosun Christiana. In a related development the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan office yesterday arraigned Akinwunmi Akubulejo and Dominic Obinna Ebisike before Hon. Justice P. I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court of Oyo State, sitting in Ibadan on a 10-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and money laundering.
